UMX (The Unified Market Exchange), incubated by Avenir Group, announced the launch of an invitation-only public beta on August 10. The platform is positioned as a crypto-friendly securities platform for global professional investors, bridging crypto assets and real securities trading on the same platform to enhance capital efficiency in cross-asset trading.
During the public beta phase, UMX opens spot, margin, contract, and options trading for crypto assets, and supports real US stocks, ETFs, and US stock options trading. The platform focuses on opening up the capital channel between crypto assets and securities accounts, allowing users to convert stablecoins like USDT into USD and transfer them to their securities accounts.
UMX has designed mechanisms for cross-market fund transfers, financing, and mutual conversion between crypto and stocks. Users can collateralize non-stablecoin crypto assets to gain purchasing power for trading US stocks and ETFs. The platform also allows securities holdings to be converted into corresponding stock tokens, which can be counted towards the crypto trading account margin.
Additionally, UMX has introduced a cross-asset margin mechanism, where wealth management assets compliant with platform rules can be used as margin. During the public beta, the platform launched BTC and USDT wealth management products, with maximum annualized yields of up to 2.5% and 5.5%, respectively.
