Investment gains for the quarter were reported at $12.684 billion, a significant rise from $4.97 billion a year earlier. However, the company's cash reserves fell to $364.7 billion, down from $397 billion in the first quarter of 2026.
As of June 30, the fair value of Berkshire Hathaway's fixed-income securities investments was $17.034 billion, with substantial allocations in U.S. Treasury bonds, foreign bonds, and corporate bonds. Notably, Alphabet has become the largest holding among the company's top five investments, which also include American Express, Apple, Bank of America, and Coca-Cola.
