Citi Launches Custody+ Real-Time Custody Solution, Targeting Digital Asset Custody and AI Infrastructure

Citi Investor Services has introduced Custody+, a custody suite designed to support compressed settlement cycles and around-the-clock trading demand. The system uses Single Event Processing technology to handle asset servicing in real time in the U.S.
Citi said the platform cuts voluntary corporate action processing time by up to about 92%. According to the company, 96% of U.S. voluntary events are completed within two hours, and more than 80% of overall event volume is processed in real time.
The suite includes real-time asset servicing, instant settlement, on-demand foreign exchange, cash and liquidity management, AI-based tax acceleration, and market intelligence. Citi also said it is preparing to launch digital asset custody later this year, starting with bitcoin custody, which could be moderately positive for custody-related financial stocks and neutral to mildly positive for crypto markets.
