Alias 'Ruso' or 'Alemán', the main leader of 'Structure 28', died during an operation in a rural area of Meta department, central Colombia, De la Espriella stated in a video shared on social media.
The president described it as a significant blow due to Ruso's expertise in explosives and his responsibility for executing actions against rival dissidents competing for territory for illicit activities.
This faction is part of the illegal structure under the command of alias 'Iván Mordisco', one of Colombia's most wanted men, to whom De la Espriella demanded surrender to justice or face the consequences.
