- The Colts expect Allen to provide production similar to what he has delivered over 13 NFL seasons.
Keenan Allen spent Wednesday's joint practice between the Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Falcons on the sideline, while Atlanta edge rusher Za'Darius Smith was absent because he had not yet arrived for the event in Westfield, Indiana.
Allen joined the Colts less than 48 hours after agreeing to a one-year contract. He flew in Tuesday night and spent part of Wednesday reconnecting with Colts coach Shane Steichen, who had been an assistant with the Chargers early in Allen's career.
Allen said he chose Indianapolis because he knows the offense and can be ready to contribute quickly. The Colts are counting on the 34-year-old receiver to provide the kind of production he has delivered over 13 NFL seasons, including a franchise-record 985 receptions with the Chargers.
