The Hawk Fire began on Saturday and has grown to about 23 square miles (60 square kilometers) as it spread dangerously close to densely populated neighborhoods.
As of Monday, containment of the fire reached 27%, with no new growth reported. Authorities stated that the number of residents under evacuation orders has decreased from over 90,000 to approximately 63,000.
While winds have eased, concerns remain that gusts could still push the flames into dry brush and newly developed areas. At least six individuals have been reported injured due to the fire.
