Fogo Foundation, the entity behind L1 blockchain network Fogo, announced on August 29 that it had been breached by an unknown attacker. The breach resulted in the unauthorized transfer of approximately 400 million FOGO tokens to the attacker's address.
In response to the incident, Fogo Foundation stated that it has notified relevant cryptocurrency trading platforms and is actively engaging with law enforcement authorities and forensic experts to investigate the breach and recover the stolen assets.
The foundation clarified that the Fogo blockchain network itself has not been compromised and continues to operate normally. The breach appears to have been limited to the foundation's own systems rather than affecting the underlying blockchain infrastructure.
