LIV Golf to end season early and cancel the Michigan team event

LIV Golf said it will close its season earlier than planned and cancel next week’s team championship in Michigan. The team title will instead be decided this week at LIV Golf Indianapolis, about 20 miles north of Indianapolis.
The move means the 2026 season will consist of 12 events, the fewest since LIV launched in 2022. Jon Rahm has already secured the individual season title for the third year in a row, leaving the Indianapolis event to settle the remaining individual and team standings.
LIV said the cancellation of the Michigan event was not unexpected, and ticket holders will be refunded. The league also said live performances by Thomas Rhett and Disco Lines will not take place in Indianapolis because of what it called unavoidable changes in the entertainment program.
CEO Scott O’Neil said ending the season now would let the league focus on what comes next. He said LIV is being reimagined as a new league owned by players and built around a sustainable business model, but the format and rosters for 2027 remain undecided.
