Prior to his death, Clarke was under contract with the Grizzlies through the 2026-27 season. He had been with the team for all seven seasons of his professional career after playing college basketball at Gonzaga.
About six weeks before his death, Clarke was arrested in Arkansas on charges including speeding, reckless driving, and possession of a controlled substance.
