Palestinian American Loui Ridi returned to his family home in the occupied West Bank village of Qusra after it had been besieged by Israeli settlers for more than a week. On his first day back, he confronted the settlers and pressed Israeli forces to remove them from the property.
According to the report, Israeli soldiers told Ridi to go back inside because the area had been declared a closed military zone. The soldiers also asked the settlers to leave peacefully.
Ridi said he still saw at least three settlers close enough to threaten his family if the army leaves. He said he cannot step outside his house without permission and coordination, and that any departure could take hours, if it is possible at all.
