The print was discovered by landlord Tim Dertz while cleaning out an apartment of an evicted tenant. Dertz noted that the print appeared to have been hanging for a long time, covered in dust.
After showing the print to an antique dealer, Dertz learned it was likely the one reported stolen by DeLind. He then handed it over to the police, who contacted DeLind to confirm its authenticity.
