The service, which launched this week, integrates cryptocurrency trading with Robinhood's existing offerings, including equities, stocks, options, and futures, all accessible within a single app. At launch, Robinhood has stated that there will be no trading fees, account maintenance fees, or custody fees associated with this service.
However, UK customers will be subject to a 0.1% forex conversion fee, which can rise to 0.3% on certain weekends. The cryptocurrency trading services are provided by Bitstamp UK Ltd, which is registered as a crypto asset service provider with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). It is important to note that crypto held through Bitstamp UK is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) or the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
