Scottie Scheffler turned a brief scare into a runaway victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. After a bunker shot bounced off a sprinkler, rolled into the water and led to a bogey, his lead was cut to one stroke. He responded with back-to-back birdies to pull away again.
Scheffler finished with a 4-under 66 and won by eight strokes, the largest margin at TPC Southwind in 68 years. He ended the tournament at 17-under 263.
The win was his first in nearly seven months and his 21st career title, all of them coming since 2022. It also continued his record of converting 54-hole leads into wins, with 11 straight such conversions.
