Upbit stated that the termination was due to security issues with the distributed ledger used by BONK's operator, which had experienced hacking incidents with unknown causes. The exchange noted that the issuer failed to disclose important matters regarding the virtual asset in a timely manner, leading to concerns over user losses.
Following Upbit's announcement, the price of BONK fell from $0.0000028 to $0.0000025, marking a decrease of about 10%.
