According to Circle’s official data cited by PANews, USDC circulation rose by about 100 million coins in the seven days ended August 13. Circle issued roughly 5.4 billion USDC during the period and redeemed about 5.3 billion.
The report said total USDC in circulation reached 71.9 billion coins, while reserves were about $72.6 billion. The reserve assets were mainly held in overnight reverse Treasury repurchase agreements, short-dated Treasury securities, deposits at systemically important institutions, and other bank deposits.
The data suggests a modest expansion in stablecoin supply. For markets, the effect is potentially mildly positive for crypto liquidity, while the direct impact on stocks, gold, or foreign exchange is neutral.
