On August 24, PANews reported on findings by on-chain detective ZachXBT regarding potential data breaches at two U.S. investment platforms, BitcoinIRA and iTrustCapital.
According to ZachXBT, both companies appear to have experienced data breaches this year, but neither has publicly disclosed this information.
The leaked data reportedly includes sensitive information such as personal profiles, portfolios, and banking and custodial account details.
An example provided by ZachXBT indicated that an attacker named 'Tiffany' used the compromised database in June to target a BitcoinIRA user, resulting in a theft of over $1.2 million.
ZachXBT reached out to both companies for comments on August 21, but as of the publication date, he had not received any responses.
