Armand Duplantis, the Swedish pole vaulter and two-time Olympic champion, has released a song titled "Gold" in partnership with World Athletics. The release is tied to the launch of the first Ultimate Championship, an event that will bring together Olympic, world and Diamond League champions.
The competition is set for Budapest from Sept. 11-13 and will be staged over three evening sessions. World Athletics said the meet carries a total prize fund of $10 million, with $150,000 awarded to each individual event winner.
Duplantis said he wrote the song with Carl Silvergran and Oscar Chase. World Athletics said the music video was filmed in the Hungarian capital and includes archival footage of Duplantis as a young athlete.
