In the 18 months through the end of June, U.S. corporations donated about $646 million to political activities, more than 40% of the total corporate donations during the entire 2024 presidential election cycle.
Statistics from the consumer advocacy group Public Citizen show that the crypto industry is currently the largest source of corporate political donations in the United States, followed by the online gambling and artificial intelligence industries. The three industries together contributed more than $344 million, accounting for more than half of all corporate political donations.
Among them, crypto entrepreneurs Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss donated $10 million through Gemini Trust Co. to the pro-Trump super PAC MAGA Inc. Prediction market platform Polymarket also participated in U.S. election political donations for the first time, donating $1 million through its parent company to the pro-Republican CLF PAC.
