Taylor Fresh Foods, the parent company of Taylor Farms, is voluntarily recalling certain products that include jalapenos due to concerns about possible salmonella contamination. This announcement follows a recent recall of iceberg lettuce products sourced from central Mexico, which was linked to a multistate cyclospora outbreak affecting individuals across the United States.
The products being recalled include guacamole, pico de gallo, and taco dip, with a “Best If Used By” date extending up to and including August 16, 2026. These items were distributed in multiple states and sold at various retailers including Kroger, Stop & Shop, Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Walmart.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are collaborating with state and local partners to investigate illnesses associated with a multistate outbreak of salmonella infections linked to fresh jalapenos supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors. Taylor Fresh Foods has identified a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico, as the potential source of the outbreak and has ceased sourcing products from this supplier.
Currently, Taylor Fresh Foods is not aware of any reported illnesses linked to its jalapeno-containing products. Consumers who have purchased any recalled items are advised to discard them immediately and can seek refunds at the point of purchase.
