A German court on Tuesday convicted a Ukrainian man of espionage and sentenced him to one year and three months in prison. Two other Ukrainian defendants were acquitted in the same case, according to the German news agency dpa.

The court found that the convicted man had arranged the sending of two parcels containing GPS transmitters from Germany and should have understood that they could be used to spy on targets linked to sabotage efforts. Judges also said he should have realized that the order had come, through intermediaries, from a Russian government agency.
