Bears sign veteran edge rusher Marcus Davenport, defensive back Deantre Prince

The Chicago Bears announced Monday that they have signed veteran defensive end Marcus Davenport and defensive back Deantre Prince. In corresponding moves, the team waived running back Coleman Bennett and waived tight end Nikola Kalinic with an injury designation.
Davenport, 29, spent the last two seasons with Detroit but was limited to 10 total games because of chest and triceps injuries. He played the 2023 season with Minnesota after beginning his career with the New Orleans Saints.
He recorded 10 1/2 sacks over his first two seasons with New Orleans and has 25 sacks in 77 career NFL games. Davenport also played under Dennis Allen in 2022, when Allen was with the Saints and now serves as Chicago's defensive coordinator.
